My education
I hold a Master’s degree in French as a foreign language from the University of Artois and a Certificate in Teaching French as a Foreign Language to Adults from the International House language school in London. I also graduated from the University of Avignon in France with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies in English and Spanish. Throughout my university education, I trained in general French and French for business purposes specializing in tourism, medical French and French for diplomacy and international relations.
My experience
I have fifteen years of experience in teaching French to adults and teenagers, twelve of which have been exclusively online. Before teaching French online, I worked for one year as a teacher of French as a foreign language in a secondary school and two years in an adult education centre. My current and past students include: doctors, project managers from the World Bank Group and the National Railway in Switzerland (CFF), engineers, United Nations staff members, artists, senior managers from big companies as well as individuals who simply love the French language and culture.
I have tutored over 250 online students on a one-to-one basis from many countries around the world including: the United States, Switzerland, Canada, the UK, Lithuania, Spain, Japan, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Norway, South Africa, China, Australia, Brazil, Russia, Poland, Iceland, Taiwan … and to people of all ages from teenagers and adults to retirees.
My teaching method
I know from first hand experience how difficult it can be to learn a new language. I personally went through the process of acquiring a level of proficiency in English and Spanish and I am currently learning German.
While learning a foreign language, one has to learn not only a new language, but also differences in cultural norms. This is why my teaching method incorporates language and culture for general French and conversation courses and focuses on specific sectors for business courses.
I am always working hard at designing French lessons suited to your specific needs and interests to enable you to achieve your goals effectively while respecting your individual learning pace. While I am teaching French, I am always patient, understanding, truly supportive and last but not least I have a sense of humour, so you can learn in a positive learning environment.
